Les Dawson was a popular British comedian. Olivia appeared on his show three times, previous appearances were mainly limited to singing but in this show she not only sings, she dances and and acts in comedy sketches. She's very good at this genre and I think this reminds of her of her early days on Australian TV shows.
Les and
Olivia enjoy a good banter, for example: Les: Where have you been all
my life?
Olivia: For most of it I wasn't even born.
Les and Olivia have a singing competition, both singing their type of music
to each other. They end up dancing together so I think it's a draw.
Olivia also gets to dance with the house dance group The Generation.
Highlights are the comedy sketches. Olivia gets to dress up in long
ball gowns from the 1800s and speak with a posh British accent. Les
obviously admires Olivia and says this about her: I've enjoyed working
with her mainly because she's a hella of a nice kid.
The show closes
with the traditional singalong around the piano.
This special can be found on the Les Dawson at ITV, The Specials DVD released in the UK in 2009.
