60 Minutes

An in-depth interview by Liz Hayes for 60 Minutes (Australia). Olivia discusses her cancer diagnosis, her fears about not being able to walk again and how cannabis has helped her control her pain. Both Chloe and husband John Easterling speak openly about their experiences.

Chloe gives a very moving account of how difficult she found it all I didn't really like that everyone knew. It annoyed me..I felt protective and didn't like all these strangers giving me advice. Telling me what my mom should or shouldn't...Chloe gets a hug from Liz as she breaks down in tears.

Liz interviews Professor Jonathan Cebon, the head of Olivia's Cancer Centre. He is very careful to tell the truth, as the medical establishment view Stage 4 cancer, that Olivia has the disease under control for now. John Easterling speaks candidly about how Olivia has benefited from cannabis; a MRI (2019) scan showed that the majority of her tumours were shrinking and they were reduced in number. He is honest and says he cannot put this all down to cannabis as Olivia is also taking Amazonian herbs and oestrogen blockers.

There's lovely footage of Olivia receiving her Companion of the Order of Australia medal, enjoying the sunset with her family and painting in the garden.

The interview ends with Olivia and Liz taking a walk around Olivia's Santa Barbara property and visiting her pet ponies.
