Olivia's Japanese record label combines both of Olivia's Greatest Hits compilations. This release incorporates all the tracks from the various 1977/1978 Greatest Hits releases in North America, Europe, Japan, Australia and South America plus a second CD of Olivia's hits from 1978-1982, with the tracks from the original Greatest Hits Volume 2 releases.

The US CD and Australia and Europe releases contained just the first greatest hits compilation.

The booklet is similar to the US release but with edition of the lyrics translated into Japanese, more photos and the bio covering the Grease and Physical era. A lovely extra is Olivia's personal message to her Japanese fans. The Japanese release also comes with a double sided poster, unfortunately folded in four to fit in the CD case. The CDs come in a sturdy plastic double CD case, whereas the USA/European versions are in a cardboard digipack which I always feel could easily tear.

The sound is superb, thanks in part to the material the CDs are made from - SHMCD (Super High Material CD, made from a highly transparent polycarbonate, is a superior quality CD fully compatible with all CD players).

There was a vinyl edition of the Greatest Hits (volume 1) released in the USA.
