Olivia talks about her experience with breast cancer for this documentary / drama from 2010.
Every minute someone dies of breast cancer and this documentary appeals for awareness of the disease and more research into the causes of cancer. Writer, producer Namrata Singh Gujral started to put together this documentary whilst she was going through chemotherapy and the drama tells her and many other women's story. It's refreshing in that it includes an international cast from different ethnicities and religions.
Also featured are Jaclyn Smith, Namrata Singh Gujral, Melissa Etheridge, Diahann Carroll, Lisa Ray, Barbara Mori, Mumtaz, brothers Billy Baldwin and Danny Baldwin, Jasmine Cooper (whose mothers are survivors) and Priya Dutt, whose mother, the famous Bollywood star Nargis Dutt died of cancer. The documentary also covers interviews with top Western Oncologists such as Dr. Dennis Slamon (Research led to Herceptin), top Eastern medicine practitioners such as Dr. Deepak Chopra as well as experts like Ambassador Nancy G. Brinker (WHO). More information.
The DVD extras feature pink carpet footage from the theater premiere in Burbank, LA and a live panel discussing the documentary, both featuring Olivia. The live panel was beamed to theaters across the USA on 6 October 2010. It was the largest theatrical release for a Cancer documentary in the history of cinema!
Olivia's song Let Go Let God from her Grace and Gratitude album is featured over the end credits, as is Beth Nielsen Chapman's lovely Sand and Water track.
