On a hot and muggy day in New York City, Logo the cast and creator of "Sordid Lives: The Series" held a cool premiere party at The New World Stages in New York City.
Olivia, Del Shores (thanks for the information, Del!), Bonnie Bedelia, Beth Grant, Leslie Jordan, Rue McClanahan, Caroline Rhea, Rosemary Alexander, Newell Alexander, David Cowgill, Jason Dottley, Sarah Hunley, David Steen and Ann Walker attended.
Before the public was let into the theater, we could watch the cast being
photographed and interviewed on the "Red Carpet". Debby Holiday
officially started the evening with a great song.
The hostess was Caroline, Leslie did a stand up routine that had everyone
laughing, we watched the first 2 episodes of the series, and they auctioned
off several items, including a walk-on role with Olivia to the lucky fellow
who bid $10,000!
Olivia, Bonnie and Beth spoke about the importance of The Trevor Project. They showed 2 videos of Olivia series song: "Slow Burn" and "None of my Business". We heard 2 songs by Georgette Jones, who pays tribute to her mother by singing Tammy Wynette classics from the series; Rue talked about behind the scenes fun!
Afterwards, we all mingled at an after-party in the theater, talking to the cast as well as to other celebrities such as Allison Janney and Bebe Neuwirth. People in attendance received gift bags containing Rue's autobiography, a copy of the script from either the play "Southern Baptist Sissies" or "Sordid Lives", a Sara Lee treat, a LOGO water bottle, Trevor Project information, and American Airline luggage tag, and an iTunes gift card to download LOGO programs.
