Looking great with Olivia

Are you nutty or fruity?

Everyone has a favourite chocolate. Some prefer creamy centres, others like crunchy or nutty textures or prefer dark over milk.

I’m a milk-chocolate woman, with a penchant for orange or strawberry soft centres. I don’t overindulge, but I love the occasional treat. So what does our choice of chocolate reveal about our personality?

Therapist Murray Langham (Chocolate Therapy, Random House, $12.95) has the following suggestion for a dinner party. Pass around a box of chocolates, allowing everyone to select their favourite Resist eating your treat until everyone’s choice of centre has been noted.

Almond: You crave success and like to celebrate your achievements. You have a quick mind that amazes friends and you love making changes to yourself.
Caramel (soft): You get things done and are reliable. You have an aptitude for figures and enjoy playing with money.
Caramel (hard): As for soft caramel, but you crystallise that softness to give you a solid base. You’re firm in your dealings with others and law-abiding. You love to work.
Coconut: You dream of island hideaways in the sun. You’re passionate, creative and artistic. You love to meditate through music and dance.
Coffee: You like everything at once. You’re a deep thinker and like lively discussion and debate.
Orange: Excellent in emergency situations, you’re a caregiver-but there’s a need to aspire to higher things.
Peppermint: All things are possible - tomorrow is another day. You’re clear in what you’re doing, whether it be in matters of the heart or your profession.
Strawberry: You’re loving and caring and listen to others’ problems. A true romantic.
Walnut: With a fresh approach to problem-solving and living, you communicate well.
