Danger!
I find it fascinating the way our bodies change to cope in a crisis. For instance, our pupils dilate so we can see better and be on the lookout for danger. Other changes occur when we’re threatened.
Our muscles go tense.
Several body functions shut down - such as the digestive and sexual systems because they are not needed in a crisis.
Our breathing rate increases so we can stock up on oxygen.
We sweat more to cool ourselves down.
Our ability to feel pain can even be numbed.
