We're all getting married

Australia's favourite girl-next-door is set to marry a new man and her ex-husband Matt is making wedding plans too!

Olivia Newton-John is on a high. After a passionate two-year liaison with US sports cameraman Patrick McDermott she has finally decided to walk down the aisle for the second time and she wants to make it Hollywood’s most romantic wedding.

Australia’s favourite girl-next-door thrives on romance and, now that she’s found the man she wants to spend the rest of her life with, she wants to have a fairytale wedding day.

“Livvy would love to have all the trimmings on her big day and she and Pat are putting together their guest list,” says a source close to the singer. “They are also house hunting in Malibu. She’d love to start afresh with everything.”

Friends say Olivia’s also ecstatic at having the total support of her 12-year-old daughter Chloe and, ex-husband Matt Lattanzi, who is also planning to marry his live-in lover Cindy Jeesup.

“There’s no bitterness at all between Matt and Livvy over the break-up of their marriage,” says a friend of the singer. They genuinely wish each other well and they’re so happy for each other. They are better friends now than when they were married and only want what is best for one another.”

“What’s more amazing is that Pat looks so much like Matt and Cindy looks like a younger Olivia!”

“Chloe, too, is over the moon that her mother is taking the plunge again, especially after all Livvy’s been through in the past few years,” says the friend. “But more than that, Chloe gets on fabulously with Pat. If she didn’t, her mother wouldn’t even be thinking of tying the knot.”

New Idea reported two weeks ago that Olivia and the younger man who won her heart are now inseparable and the friend confirms their togetherness.

“You see them strolling around hand in hand, hugging each other like there’s no tomorrow.”

An eyewitness at a local Malibu cafe to which the two lovebirds are frequent visitors told the American tabloid Globe: “On one occasion, Olivia started playing with Patrick’s bracelet. He immediately took it off and slowly slipped it onto her arm. Their body language made it clear they’re so much in love.”

It’s the same language Matt is talking. “It’s true,” says one of Matt’s best friends, Mike Watkins. “I am sure that Matt and Cindy will be marrying real soon. He’s definitely head over heels in love with this girl.”

“This past summer they went bicycling across the Pacific Northwest, which included Oregon where Matt’s parents and brothers live. He wanted to introduce Cindy to his family. He doesn’t just take any girl home with him! He is really serious about this girl.”

“Olivia liked to stay home a lot. Of course, her fame caused her to lead a somewhat reclusive lifestyle - and she liked luxurious hotels. With Cindy, he’s got someone to share his passion for the outdoors - bicycling, camping and hiking.”

According to Mike, Matt’s five-year friendship with Cindy, 27 who used to babysit Chloe picked up speed about the time his divorce from Olivia was finalised earlier this year.

For a long time Matt insisted that they were just friends and that there was nothing more between them.

“He’s no idiot,” says Mike. “He kept his distance sexually and didn’t step over the line until the paperwork came through on his and Livvy’s divorce. Now it’s just a question of when the time is right for Matt and Cindy to make it legal.”
