Who's hot and why? Opinion leaders state their preference

Olivia comes in third

Sixty Minutes reporter Jana Wendt has been voted Australia's sexiest woman by a panel of Australian opinion leaders.

Wendt won the poll by a narrow margin. She was closely followed by actresses Greta Scacchi, Olivia Newton-John and Sigrid Thornton, and golfer Jan Stephenson.

To select Australia's sexiest woman. Australian Penthouse sent a list of 40 Australian women to 100 prominent Australians. We asked them to select the girl whose beauty, personality and raw physical appeal most attracted them. We re quested that they list the five women they thought were most sexually attractive in order of preference from one to five.

Former Australian Prime Minister Sir William McMahon expressed his liking for expatriate actress Olivia Newton-John, without being specific about his reasons for placing her at the head of his list. Newton-John was only a point behind Scacchi, while Sigrid Thornton was the next most popular choice.
