Two of a Kind soundtrack review
JOHN TRAVOLTA - OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN - Two of a Kind (MCA 6127)
I don’t usually write about soundtracks, since there’s plenty more to be written about good music that doesn’t lean on another medium.
But I simply couldn’t resist this. I’ll be brief, however.
ONJ has a pretty good voice (although she dances like a dyspeptic turtle with a skin rash), but the songs here are so trite, so squishy and inane.
It’s not all Olivia and the Travolta here, but other songs by Patti Austin, Boz Scaggs, Journey and Chicago do nothing to save the listener from a bad case of colic.
In the opener, Twist of Fate, Olivia’s first line is: “Do we deserve a second chance?” Absolutely not!
