Olivia Pays the Price Of Fame
SINGING SUPERSTAR Olivia Newton-John has revealed in an off- guard moment that life at the top is not all she dreamed it would be. She admitted it was often lonely, and that her fame had a ‘‘frightening” effect on men.
Only in recent months has the beautiful singer found a man who was not daunted by her - young dancer Matt Lattanzi, 11 years her junior. Olivia. 32, and Lattanzi, 21, met on the set of her Xanadu movie, and their romance has blossomed over the past 10 months. Although there are rumors that they plan to wed this summer, she denied that the relationship is that serious.
Stunning Olivia, who broke up with her live-in boy friend and manager Lee Kramer last year, after seven years together, has vowed never to discuss in depth her love life. But she described her relationship with Lattanzi as “a very special and enjoyable love. Although we spend a lot of time together, we’re not living together and we’re not planning to get married,” she said. “I only want to get married once and I want it to last forever. I don’t want my marriage winding up in divorce like my own parents.”
Olivia said that maybe the next few years will see a change in her attitude toward marriage: “I think something must happen in your,’30s. I’ve done about everything I want to do in my career. But, as a woman, I would like a husband and children. These seem to be all I have left. out. I would like a husband first. I am old- fashioned about that. I think that to have a baby you should first be in love with the man and want to have his child. But I don’t want to put out any man-search or anything. I really enjoy my life as it is.”
