Xanadu Soundtrack reviews
Although the movie Xanadu was bagged by critics across the world, the sound track, featuring Olivia Newton-John and the Electric Light Orchestra, was praised.
Produced by John Farrar, and Jeff Lynne, the sound track features a number of outstanding tracks, including the title track.
On one cut, Olivia Newton-John sings an Andrews Sisters type of song (triple tracking herself to get the harmonies) and suddenly the track is taken over by the Tubes, a hard rock band. The effect is outstanding.

OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN returns to first place with MAGIC, the theme song from the film XANADU, in which she shares the starring role with GENE KELLY.
This film shows two eras of music, yesterday and today. THE ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA, led by JEFF LYNNE, has produced unprecedented musical work with the hits: "Magic," "All Over the World," and "Xanadu."
