Joy and sorrow Olivia and John Travolta

Translation:

Olivia Newton-John’s exhausting tour came to an end when she celebrated her last European party in Amsterdam on Sinterklaas Eve (ed - Saint Nicholas’ Eve).

She left Schiphol Airport, laden with speculaas (ed - a biscuit) and marzipan, heading home to Malibu, near Hollywood. “I couldn’t stand on my feet at the end,” the blonde star of “Grease” admitted.

“That’s why I’m glad it’s over. Three months on tour with all that hustle and bustle and all those people who want to shake your hand! Phew!”

On the other hand, Olivia has had a fantastic few months. She got to know her manager, Lee Kramer, so well that she hopes to marry him next year.

“Although he hasn’t had time to officially propose yet.” She now understands that she shouldn’t wait too long to have children, now that she’s turned 30. Even though the slim, blonde star looks ten years younger.

“We’d love to have children, wouldn’t you, Lee?” she asks her boyfriend, who also looks very happy.

“Olivia had to fight very hard for fifteen years to reach the top in her profession,” he says. “Now she’s suddenly here, and it’s incredibly difficult not to ride the wave of success.”

There are already many offers for new roles in future films. “But I want to take it easy for a while,” says Olivia, very calmly and seriously.

She does indeed seem to have gotten over all the tensions that made her so grumpy a year ago that she even sent her boyfriend, Lee, packing. Now they’ll soon be together for good.

Meanwhile, John Travolta, Olivia’s screen partner from “Grease,” has had two recent bereavements. A few years ago, his older girlfriend died of cancer. Last week, his mother died of the same illness. Mrs. Travolta did, however, live to see her son’s tremendous success. “Luckily, John always remained a very simple boy…” she proudly told anyone who would listen.

And so it became a week of joy and sorrow for two stars. Life makes no distinctions…
