Olivia performing in Las Vegas
The Olivia Newton-John/Kenny Rogers show at the Riviera in Las Vegas was a blockbuster success even without the special event that took place a few nights before closing. Olivia received a surprise visit from her Grease co-star, John Travolta, who not only stood up to take a bow but got up on the stage and danced with her. Well, what did you expect? It was Saturday night.

Travolta did take a night off, he flew such pals as Burt Reynolds, Sally Field and Dom DeLuise to surprise one of his best friends,
Olivia Newton-John, who was appearing at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas.
John got on stage with Olivia and they did a number from their film Grease.
When they finished their number, tennis greats Jimmy Connors and Ilie Nastase took over with the singer, with Howard Cosell delivering his wry humor from the sidelines. The standing ovations seemed to never end.
