Concerts debut album (Come On Over, Olivia in Anaheim 23 March)
BEVERLY HILLS - Superstar singer Olivia Newton-John premieres selections from her just released MCA album. “Come On Over.” when she appears in concert at the convention center March 23 in Anaheim.
The engagement, part of the largest concert tour ever by the record business leading female award winner, will also feature selections from Olivia’s seven gold records. Included will be “Have You Never Been Mellow” which was recently selected as favorite album in the pop or rock n’ roll category of the 76 American Music Awards. Olivia was also named favorite overall female vocalist and favorite female vocalist in the pop and rock n’ roll categories.
“Come On Over” is also the title of Olivia’s newest single release. Other tunes included in the new LP are hauting versions of “Greensleeves” and “Long and Winding Road;” a rousing “Jolene,” and tender “Blue Eyes” and “Smile For Me.”
The 29-city tour, which began at Stephen Austin College in Nacogdoches, Texas Feb. 26 and winds up in Shreveport. La. April 6, is strictly first-class. The contingent is traveling in a totally redecorated Starship 1 private plane, while short trips are being done via a luxury bus which incudes telephone and movie service aboard.
