After several switches, it looks like Fred Smoot will open the show for Olivia Newton-John, the fragile Australian beauty coming to the Diplomat March 28-April 5. Even in the zany world of professional comedy, Smoot is an odd one: He claims to be a former tugboat cook, helicopter guide and ABC News photographer, and is a former member of the “Wackiest Ship in the Army” television cast….
