Tickets Sold out, Oklahoma

Back-to-back Olivia Newton-John concerts Thursday are sold out in advance, Ron Nance of Satellite Ticket Agency said.

A handful of single seat tickets went Wednesday for the 7:30 and 10 p.m. concerts In Civic Center Music Hall. The England-born, Australian-raised singer is making her first appearance in Oklahoma City.

She brings with her singer Albert Hammond who recently recorded “It Never Rains in Southern California.” Miss Newton-John also tours with her six-piece band.

Nance said the sellouts were unexpected.

“I’m really surprised,” he said. “When I booked the show last September, I wasn’t sure she would sell out one show, much less two.”

Similar sellouts in recent years include dual shows by Mac Davis and Sammy Joe in July, 1974, and Mac Davis and Helen Reddy shows in July, 1973.

Nance scheduled the second Newton-John show shortly after noting the first concert was rapidly approaching a sellout.
