The daughter of a college professor and the grand-daughter of a Nobel prize winning physicist, Olivia Newton John long ago stepped out of the academic background and into show business.
She started tinkering on the family’s grand piano when she was five, composed her own musical comedies when she was twelve.
Welsh born and raised in Australia, Olivia had her own singing group in high school and won a talent contest that sent her to London.
THERE HER recording career began. She recorded ‘If Not For You’ and “Banks of the Ohio” in 1971 and was voted Best British Girl Singer by the Record Mirror magazine in 1972.
Olivia Newton-John will appear at the El Paso Civic Center March 3 in a reserve seating concert. She brings with her two recent hit records: “I Honestly Love You” and her current climber, “Have You Never Been Mellow?”
Tickets are available at the Civic Center box office, Central Ticket Agency, and Kurlan-Salzman Music Stores.
