short review of If You Love Me Let Me Know album

Olivia Newton John has a soft, husky voice that reminds you a lot of Peggy Lee - until the guitars start twanging and she slides into the country style. You wonder how a voice that soft can do country, but she does it, and very well -good enough to win this year’s Grammy for Best Female Country Artist.

Olivia also is Australian, which is about as far from Biloxi as you can get. But such handicaps matter not to Olivia who now has an LP out for MCA called “Olivia Newton-John If You Love Me.” This is the title of her current hit single, but there are two other songs on the album that are just as good, if not better: “The River’s Too Wide” and “You Ain’t Got The Right.”
