C and W Night

Following the wonderful support given Hull's first months ago, the promoters have lined up another array of C-&-W (country and western) favourites for the second in what promises to be a series of evenings of country music. The venue is again Baileys, the date is an evening in early September, and the demand for tickets from a wide area of the north is such that it is certain to be another sell-out. Hull's C-&-W champion, Tex Milne, will compere proceedings, with a line-up of talented performers that promises a grand night out for the patrons of the festival. Contracts have crossed the Atlantic to bring country music's newest singing star, Tracy Miller, over for the occasion. Tracy will be backed by the Sidewinders, a top-rated foursome in the C-&-W field. Other artists due to appear include: Little Ginny, Country Fever, Ian Attrill, Blue Ridge, the Country Gents, and a new duo of local favourites, Phil Sinners and Dave Christian. An added attraction will be the appearance of Baileys star of the week, Olivia Newton-John, an artist who should prove very popular with the audience C-&-W fans or not. A programme of five hours of entertainment is planned for Humberside's country-and-western spectacular, so there should be something on the bill to please all tastes.
