BY DIGMO-This photo shows a group of recipients of station 3XY’s annual Digmo awards gathered at the Downunder outlet.
The awards were given as follows: Most Programmed LP Artist of ‘66. Herb Alpert & TJB; Best Female Pop Vocalist, Bev Harrell; Best Male Pop Vocalist, Sandy Scott; Most Future Potential, Cheryl Gray; Most Outstanding Australian LP, Bill Burton; and Most Likely To Suceed If Given Opportunity, Geraldine Fit-gerald. Earl Grant was a guest.
The group: (from left to right) Herb Alpert, Pat Carroll, Earl Grant, Cheryl Gray, 3XY’s Bob Baeck, Olivia Newton-John, Bill Burton (holding his award), and 3XY’s John Burls. Geraldine Fitzgerald was unable to attend because she was entertaining Australian and American troops in Vietnam.
“Digmo,” symbolized by the little awards that Alpert and Burton are holding, stands for Destroy International Garbage Music Organisation.
