Honorary doctorate from La Trobe University
10sA feather in her cap! Olivia Newton-John beams as she accepts an honorary doctorate from La Trobe University, after admitting she didn't watch the Channel Seven miniseries based on her life

She's the iconic Australian singer whose life has been laid bare in the Channel Seven miniseries Olivia: Hopelessly Devoted To You.
But Olivia Newton John swapped the microphone for the cap and gown on Monday when she accepted an honorary doctorate from Melbourne's La Trobe University. The 69-year-old was awarded with an Honorary Doctorate of Letters to recognise her work in promoting cancer research.
Olivia looked pleased as punch as she accepted the honour and beamed from ear to ear as she addressed the waiting media. Despite battling breast cancer for a second time, Olivia appeared the picture of good health. With her golden locks poking out from underneath her studious black cap, Olivia wore a light rose shade for her lip and a subtle mauve shade of mascara.
Speaking to The Sydney Morning Herald at the event, Olivia admitted that she skipped the premiere of the two-part miniseries. I didn't watch it,
she told the publication. I won't be able to. It's a movie, they weren't there my whole life - they have probably dramatised it.
Olivia added that she would be interested in checking out the two-part series once the dust had settled. I will watch it in a year from now,
she said. Apparently the young girl who played me did well [and] Delta is wonderful.
Speaking with Woman's Day on Monday, Olivia's daughter Chloe Lattanzi slammed the biopic, revealing the family were upset with the way it had been handled. Not one part of it has come directly from our family, it is completely unauthorised, nobody asked us to take part or consulted us about accuracy,
she said.
