Olivia as celebrity TV judge?

Xtra special roles

The X Factor hosts Chloe Maxwell and Daniel MacPherson have one rule on their new talent show. “Acts have to be Xtraordinary, Xceptional and Xciting!” Chloe laughs.

Daniel however found the whole idea more than Xciting; the actor had his bags packed for the US and a string of movie offers when he was signed up.

“The temptation to stay here for the next 18 months was just too great,” says the star of UK’s The Bill.

Meanwhile, Australian Idol and The X Factor hopefuls won’t be the only ones with stars in their eyes - the Nine Network has been auditioning ordinary people who can impersonate superstar singers for its new talent/reality show, Star Struck. (www.ninemsn.com. au/starstruck)

“It’s a glorified game of dress-up,” says executive producer David Mitchell, who chose The Price Is Right host smiley Larry Emdur to be the talent show’s anchorman.

The big news is that Australia’s favourite songbird Olivia Newton-John is high on the wish list of celebrity judges. Meanwhile, her niece, socialite Tottie Goldsmith, is also being approached for a role on the show.

Based on a long-running UK hit, each week five contestants impersonate their favourite star complete with a makeover from top fashion and make-up designers - the best look-and-sound-alike from each episode gets a chance to go onto the final all, of course, voted by you.
