Creating Healthier World for Children

CHEC joined with Arts for Healing for their One World, One Child, Creating a Healthier World for Children benefit on November 11th at the Plaza hotel.

Well over three hundred guests filled the ballroom to hear Dr. Phillip Landrigan, MD. MSc and Richard Blumenthal, Connecticut Attorney General speak to the urgency of children’s environmental health issues.

Whole Foods Market was recognized for their commitment to providing organic and natural foods and environmentally safe household products; Dr. Clive Robbins was honored for his central role in the development of music therapy; and Olivia Newton-John was celebrated for her decade of service to CHEC as its national spokesperson.

Richard Marx and Beth Nielsen-Chapman gave moving performances and paid tribute to Olivia’s achievements and the power of music to heal. The event raised over $500,000 dollars for CHEC and Arts for Healing.

“The One World One Child gala brought new vision and tangible hope to everyone gathered in the Plaza ballroom. There is no doubt that the urgency of our mission was felt by all who attended. Together, these organizations provide the solutions and the optimism parents seek. Judg ing by the response from our guests, our assumptions were right!”
