Protect Your Children from Toxins
What's a parent to do?
CHEC is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1995 by Nancy and James Chuda in honor of their only child. Colette, who died at age 5 from a nonhereditary form of cancer. The group seeks to educate the public, specifically parents and caregivers, about environmental toxins that affect children’s health.
The group’s new video with Olivia Newton-John and Kelly Preston is called Not Under My Roof Protecting Your Baby From Toxins at Home.
CHEC’s Web site contains information. about how to substitute commonplace goods for a long list of toxic cleaners and disinfectants. The group’s literature also offers advice and information on children and the effects of their “crawl zone, as well as steps on how a home can be child-proofed.
CHEC has also printed a primer, The Household Detective Primer, How to Protect Your Children From Toxins in the Home, which is available via the Web site below.
