International acclaimed singer Olivia Newton John comes to the Las Vegas Hilton Theater for two rare performances of 9 pm on March 31 and April 1.
Olivia Newton John has remained o superstar throughout an incredible career that has spurned over 25 years. She has sold on estimated 50 million records worldwide, produced five No. 1 pop hits including Magic and (Let’s Get) Physical, and 15 Top 10 singles eight of which have been certified gold and two platinum.
Newton-John has also received four Grammy’s, numerous Country Music Association Awards, American Music Awards and People’s Choice Awards, and most recently, a 1999 Daytime Emmy Award for penning the song This Is Our Moment that was used in the daytime drama “As the World Turns”. She was also recently named one of the 100 Greatest Women of Rock ‘n’ Roll” by VH-1.
While working in London in 1972 Newton-John become part of Cliff Richard’s touring show and appeared on his TV series “It’s Cliff”. Her first hit come in England in 1971, with a cover of Bob Dylan’s If Not For You. Her 1973 debut album and single Let Me Be There produced her first stateside Top 10 single with the title track, Olivia Newton-John hit on both the country and pop charts with If You Love Me (Let Me Know), Have You Ever Been Mellow and her No. 1 hit Honestly Love You that won a Grammy. She also received the nod for Female Vocalist of the Year by the CMA in 1975.
She left country music behind, however, when she donned black leather in the movie Grease in 1978. The soundtrack album has sold, to date, more than 10 million copies the best-selling movie soundtrack in history.
She released two albums in the early 1990s: Back to Basics and Gaia. After taking some time all to raise her daughter and recuperate from a well-publicized bottle with breast cancer, Newton-John come back energized in 1998 with the release of her 17th career solo album Back With a Heart.
