What’s the one single thing you try to do every day to keep healthy
ONJ- I walk in nature with my dogs.
Do you follow any particular diet, or use any special foods?
ONJ- I have, mostly, a wheat and dairy free diet, and I try to eat lots of tofu and soy products.
Do you take any nutrition supplements? Which ones and why?
ONJ- I take a multi-vitamin liquid and extra vitamin C, also in liquid form because I find it hard to swallow lots of pills.
What do you do to relax and unwind?
ONJ- I meditate, I walk, I play, and I listen to music,
You have fought a very public battle against breast cancer. Please tell us about any alternative therapies and natural medicines that you used or still use which you think might have helped. What were they?
ONJ- I had a regimen of Western and Eastern therapies. On one hand I had chemotherapy and surgery, and to counter that toll on my body I had homeopathic and herbal remedies to keep me in balance - all with my doctor’s approval, of course.
What’s the one single thing you would say to a woman who is given a diagnosis of breast cancer?
ONJ- Breast cancer is not necessarily a death sentence. Stay strong and centred, and be involved in all aspects of your treatment. And talk to other women who’ve been through it before - that’s most important, and very positive!
What was the best piece of advice you were given at the time?
ONJ- You will determine how others act around you by your attitude and positiveness.
You were also well known as supporting a variety of environmental issues, and for incorporating environmental themes in your work. What have you been doing recently in this area?
ONJ- I just supported a measure to save orangutans in Borneo. They are losing habitat so rapidly and have nowhere to go. The Australians got right behind it. I am the Spokesperson for CHEC - the Children’s Health Environmental Coalition - and a portion of my tour profits went to them.

Which, of all your achievements, are you most proud of?
ONJ- The birth of my daughter, Chloe Rose
Who is your greatest inspiration?
ONJ- My daughter!
What one luxury will you not go without?
ONJ- To me, luxury is to be at home with my daughter - and the occasional massage doesn’t hurt.
Who would you most like to meet, and why?
ONJ- I would like to have been able to meet my grandfather, Max Born, who I unfortunately missed - he passed away when I was young. He was an amazing man, who won a Nobel Prize for Quantum Physics, and I would be so fascinated to know him.
What is your most treasured possession?
ONJ- I try not to be too attached to things - they are only things. My friends, family and animals are what counts.
Who or what makes you laugh?
ONJ- I laugh easily and I love funny people and try to see humour in life’s situations.
What do you get asked most often?
ONJ- What was it like making Grease.
Do you have any secret vices?
ONJ- If I did tell you, then they certainly wouldn’t be secret any more!!
