Olivia hosted and performed at a special benefit concert celebrating John Denver's music and life. John Denver was the first inductee to the Colorado Music Hall of Fame held on Earth Day Eve, April 21 2011 at 1STBANK Center.
Olivia spoke of her friendship with John and their love of the environment. Olivia had been invited to spend her first Thanksgiving in America with him and his family.
She introduced the guest performers hugging many of them, especially a tearful Annie Denver (John's first wife).
Olivia performed Take Me Home Country Roads with Bill Danoff the co-writer of Country Roads. It was a very different arrangement to her original recording but wonderful. Olivia and John Oates gave a lovely performance of Fly Away, which Olivia had originally sung with John back on his Rocky Mountain TV special back in 1976.
