OLIVIA Newton-John has found love again in the arms of a handsome, wealthy businessman who has swept the popular Wildlife host off her feet. Friends say the star has never looked happier and is positively glowing. Word first leaked out about a new romance for Olivia after she was seen enjoying a romantic candlelit dinner with her secret new love at a restaurant near the northern New South Wales coast property she now plans to call home.

A romance between Olivia and her secret new man has been quietly building for some months, confides a friend. They have been holidaying together and spending a lot of time at her home near Byron Bay. It's true, confirms another associate of Olivia's. She does have a new man and everyone who knows about him is just so happy for her. He's witty and romantic. I think she might have found her Prince Charming at last. They seem real soul mates. It's a long time since anyone has seen Olivia so contented. This is clearly just what she needed. She has an exciting new look. Her body is toned to perfection. It has to be love.

The mystery man is described as a suave, affluent LA-based film industry executive in his late forties. It is understood Olivia has been seeing him for a few months and friends say the relationship has become very serious. Over the past few years she has endured a series of personal traumas: the collapse of her once highly successful Koala Blue chain of stores; the death of her father, Professor Brin Newton-John; the discovery just a short time later that she had breast cancer; and then the shock break-up of her marriage to Matt Lattanzi. After all that pain Olivia has drawn a tight veil of secrecy around her private life.

She's not going to talk about any man she is interested in again, says the friend. Olivia jealously guards her relationships. She's been badly hurt in the past and is determined that will never happen again. She's also conscious of her daughter Chloe's feelings. But now she and Matt have finally split, it all seems very amicable. Apparently the new man in her life has met Matt and they've all been out to dinner together.

Olivia has been dividing her time between the avocado farm she has owned for many years, a short distance from Byron Bay, and the Malibu mansion Matt designed and built to be their dream home. That property is now on the market, and Olivia has announced that she intends to spend much more time back in Australia. Chloe is enrolled in school here and even though she and Matt have decided to go their separate ways, Matt is also planning to base himself in Australia, primarily in Sydney.

Olivia's real estate agent, Glen Meyers of Coldwell Bankers, says: Livvy's Malibu house has been on the market for two years and we have had two serious buyers, but at the last minute both prospects went sour. Olivia has allowed Glen to drop the original asking price of $11 million to $8.5 million, but no less. She is determined not to sell the luxurious, environmentally- friendly estate for peanuts. She has agreed to lease the estate for $35,000 a month. Matt's friend of many years, Mike Watkins, says: Matt worked side-by-side with the architect. He selected the best materials. It truly was their own piece of paradise. Now Olivia may have found someone else to share her paradise.

MATT's $640,000 PAD

MATT Lattanzi has splashed out on a luxury Sydney coastal home with sweeping water views and lots of room for parties He's certainly not going to do it tough, says a friend impressed by Matt's $640,000 purchase in beautiful Clareville on the northern beaches peninsula.

Perched on the high side of an exclusive street, Matt's new four-bedroom dream home has sweeping views of Pittwater and is just an hour's drive from the city. It's one of the best houses in the area, says a local real estate agent. Matt, the host of Pepsi Max Extremists on Network Ten, attended the auction alone and won the final bid against fierce competition.

While the home was billed in glossy, full-page advertisements as ideal for a growing family there will be only one kid's bedroom, especially reserved for daughter Chloe. Matt was anxious that Chloe should have somewhere familiar to stay when she comes to visit says a friend He wanted a family environment, far from the city hassles. Matt's new neighbours are hoping their quiet cul-de-sac will remain a well-kept secret. One says: I welcome him, but let's hope he doesn't bring the rest of the world and their cameras.
