Together Again Olivia and John's New Movie
John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John are back together. And the big surprise is that the film, Two Of A Kind will have very little singing in it. It will show off John and Olivia’s acting ability. It also features Oliver Reed, Beatrice Straight, Scatman Crothers, Charles Durning and Castulo Guerra.
It’s been six years since the pair starred in Grease, and since then they have been searching for the right film to bring them together. Production will start early next year in Los Angeles. Two Of A Kind was sent to John during production of his latest film Staying Alive. He was taken with the film straight away. And after reading the script, Olivia, too, felt the film was made for them. The couple were planning a Grease 2 last year, but negotiations fell through when they weren’t offered enough money. “The producers didn’t want to give us any money,” John said. “They made us an offer you make to someone when you don’t want them to do it.”
John and Olivia are expected in Australia next year to star in a film with Bryan Brown and Mel Gibson. It’s the film version of the play No Names No Pack Drill, and it will be filmed in Melbourne and Sydney. John, who made a name for himself in the TV series Welcome Back Kotter, and who gained success with Saturday Night Fever and Grease, has another box-office hit with Staying Alive. The film is the sequel to Saturday Night Fever and shows off John’s expertise as a dancer. After failures with Urban Cowboy and Blow Out, John spent several gruelling months getting in shape for fast-moving dance sequences in Staying Alive. The film’s director, Sylvester Stallone, supervised the star’s workouts and diet, which included an extensive course of vitamins, Stallone, who starred in the Rocky trilogy, Night Hawks, and First Blood, is also co-writer and co-producer of Staying Alive.
Meanwhile, John’s love life is improving. The 28-year-old star has flown back into the arms of old flame Marilu Henner, an attractive star of the Taxi series, Marilu is in the process of divorcing actor Frederic Forrest. Red-haired, 30-year-old Marilu was John’s first real Hollywood love. They met in 1972 when he was on tour with the Broadway show Grease.
Olivia, in Australia recently, is also happy with her love life. But she denies rumors that she’ll marry long-time boyfriend Matt Lattanzi, saying that their relationship is not that serious.
